1.      True worship glorifies God

a.       Isaiah’s worship began with a vision of the Lord on His throne  

b.      The holiness of the Lord brought despair to Isaiah as he understood his sinfulness  

c.       Isaiah was given an experience of forgiveness  

d.      Much of what passes for worship today resembles a pep rally more than an encounter with God  

e.       Much of modern worship focuses on making the worshipper feel good as compared with Isaiah’s experience that began with him feeling bad  

f.       Isaiah’s experience inspired him to want to do God’s will  

2.      True worship leads to a spiritual mission – consider these Scripture examples of worship leading to mission

a.       The burning bush led to Moses mission to Pharaoh  

b.      The Passover led to the Exodus

e.       The apostles – Matt 28:17-19  

f.       Paul – Acts 9:4 and 15
