1.       The arguments that have raged over the centuries concerning baptism and communion

1.       The origin of the communion service – Matt 26:19-29

b.       The last supper of Jesus with his disciples – the celebration that was changed to mourning – Matt 26:21-25

2.       Communion in the New Testament Church of Christ

3.       The purpose of communion

a.       A celebration of our faith in Jesus – 1 Cor 10:16  

b.       A celebration of our unity in the faith – Acts 20:7 – they “came together”  

c.       A celebration of our hopes to come – 1 Cor 11:26

2.       Our life centers in Jesus and what he did for us – Matt 26:28

3.       Communion is at the center of that life
