Matthew 10:25-30
Introduction
1.
Because of computer viruses, we are
careful about what goes into our computers – we need to exercise care about
what goes into our minds
2.
Today, we will consider the mind of
Christ as teacher, shepherd and atoning sacrifice
Discussion
1.
The mind of Christ, the teacher
a.
It was not enough that he
understood, but he had a burning desire that others understand as well
b.
This is seen in his use of every
opportunity – sometimes he answered the questions of others; sometimes he was
the one who asked – Matt 11:3; 12:2; 16:13
c.
Sometimes he sought out the ones to
teach as when he entered the synagogues
d.
Sometimes he was sought out by the
crowds – John 6:25
e.
We need the mind of Christ, the
teacher
2.
The mind of Christ, the shepherd
a.
He had compassion for those who
were “distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd” – Matt 9:36

– Is 42:1-3
c.
He had concern for those who were
outside the group to whom he was sent – Matt 15:21-28
d.

spoke the truth – Matt 19:21-22
e.
We need the mind of Christ, the
shepherd
3.
The mind of Christ, the atoning
sacrifice
a.
His rejection began when they
claimed that he used Beelzebub to cast out Demons – Matt 12:25-29
b.
He was rejected for his
understanding of Scripture – Matt 15:12
c.
He was rejected because he foretold
his own death – Matt 16:22
d.
Finally, He was rejected because he
claimed to be the Son of God – Matt 26:64-67

atoning sacrifice – 1Pet 2:21
